Wisconsin Trackside is a railfan observation and reference service. It is not a railroad dispatch, emergency, navigation, or safety system.

Safe and lawful use

Stay off railroad property, tracks, equipment, bridges, yards, and other restricted areas. Obey signs, laws, property rules, and instructions from railroad or emergency personnel. Never use the app while driving.

Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit and grant Wisconsin Trackside permission to host, display, format, moderate, and distribute it for operating the service. Submit only content you have the right to share and provide accurate attribution.

Photo use across the site

For photos uploaded under these terms, you grant Wisconsin Trackside a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, host, reproduce, resize, crop for layout, and display them to operate the website. Public contributions may appear beyond the original post, including on the home page, in sightings, galleries, chase stories, viewing guides, railroad and locomotive pages, and other featured areas of Wisconsin Trackside. We credit the contributor using the supplied attribution or public username.

You retain copyright and may continue using or licensing your photos elsewhere. Upload only photos you own or have permission from the rights holder to license for these site uses. This permission does not give other visitors a reuse license, and does not include selling your photos or using them for unrelated advertising.

Visibility settings and moderation still apply. Profile pictures follow profile visibility settings; private or restricted photos do not become public merely because they were uploaded. You may use the existing deletion and privacy-request controls. Photos uploaded before this notice remain governed by the permissions granted when they were uploaded; this notice does not create additional permission for earlier uploads or replace a third-party license.

Accuracy

Train symbols, schedules, locations, sightings, operating information, and community reports may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. Operations can change without notice.

Enforcement

Content or accounts may be limited or removed for safety, privacy, legal, security, or guideline violations. The service may change or be discontinued. These terms are a public-beta draft and should receive legal review before store release.
